When Mark was 16 he became the youngest Grandmaster in Canadian chess history. Currently as a 20 year old Mark is studying in a university which means that he only plays chess during his summer holidays, still his rating has been going up and he is the top player who currently lives in Canada. Mark’s most notable chess accomplishment was beating one of world’s top players; Grandmaster Alexei Shirov in the 2005 Canadian Open in Edmonton.
